1. Who we are and what we provide

Ceylon Drivers ("we", "us") is a driver-only service operating in Colombo and across Sri Lanka. We supply professional, licensed drivers who drive your own vehicle. We are not a taxi company, a ride-hailing platform or a vehicle rental company, and we do not own, rent out or supply vehicles under any circumstances.

By booking a driver by phone, WhatsApp, or through the booking form on ceylondrivers.lk, you agree to these terms.

2. Booking and confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once we have replied to you with a driver assignment and a quoted price. A submitted web form or an unanswered message is a request, not a confirmed booking.

For immediate drink-and-drive pickups we aim to reach you within 20-40 minutes across the Colombo District, subject to traffic and driver availability. Scheduled bookings should be placed at least 2 hours in advance where possible, and 24 hours in advance for weddings, outstation trips and island-wide vehicle drops.

3. Your vehicle and insurance

Because we drive your vehicle, you confirm at the time of booking that: the vehicle is roadworthy and legally registered; it has a valid revenue licence and a valid insurance policy in force; and that policy permits a driver other than yourself to drive the vehicle. This is standard on comprehensive policies in Sri Lanka, but it is your responsibility to verify it with your insurer.

You remain the owner and the insured party for the vehicle throughout the booking. Any claim arising from an incident is made under your own policy. Our drivers hold valid Sri Lankan driving licences for the class of vehicle they are assigned to.

4. Prices and payment

Our published rates start at LKR 1,800 for the first 10 km, with LKR 150 per additional kilometre and LKR 300 per 20 minutes of waiting. A half day (6 hours) is LKR 3,100 and a full day (12 hours) is LKR 4,000. Outstation travel is LKR 4,500 per day, which covers the driver's meals and accommodation. Island-wide vehicle drops start from LKR 5,500.

The exact price for your booking is confirmed before we dispatch a driver. There is no surge pricing and no hidden charges. Fuel, tolls, parking and any entry tickets for the vehicle remain the customer's responsibility, as the vehicle is yours.

Payment is due at the end of the booking in cash or by bank transfer unless a monthly corporate account has been agreed in writing.

5. Waiting time and overtime

Reasonable waiting time is included in half-day and full-day packages. Beyond the booked duration, additional hours are charged pro-rata at the applicable package rate, and waiting beyond the agreed schedule is charged at LKR 300 per 20 minutes.

6. Customer responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate pickup and drop details, to not ask the driver to break any traffic law or speed limit, to not ask the driver to carry illegal goods, and to treat the driver with respect. Our drivers may end a booking on the spot, with the full quoted fee payable, in cases of abuse, threats, or a request to act unlawfully.

Drivers do not consume alcohol. Passengers may.

7. Liability

We take reasonable care in selecting, verifying and background-checking every driver. Our liability is limited to the value of the booking fee. We are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights, missed meetings or consequential costs, or for pre-existing mechanical faults in your vehicle.

8. Changes to these terms
